Mindful Hawaii March 2019 Meeting Gentle Reminder

MINDFUL HAWAII COMMUNITY MEETING, 2019

ALOHA ALL!!

MINDFUL HAWAII
MANY TRUTHS, MANY PATHS, ONE SOURCE

JUST A A GENTLE REMINDER OF OUR MINDFUL HAWAII COMMUNITY MEETING

AT 1 PM SATURDAY 23 MARCH 2019 AT KAITO GAKKO, 3225 PAKANU ST, NEXT TO THE MANOA CHINESE CEMETERY.

We will have an interesting time together.

DR, THANH HUYNH Founder of “Mindfulness Free Course” will lead us in a meditation session and dharma talk. Dr. Huynh will speak on a subject of interest to the group. He could speak about calm, insight, or any topic relating to mindfulness that the group might want to hear.

Following the meditation and dharma talk, MOLLY NOELANIOKEKAI MAMARIL OF THE BLUE ZONE PROJECT will brief us about the project; its history, aims, and what its been finding about aging and longevity—including how spiritual and emotional health plays a crucial role in longevity. Since Molly is the Engagement Lead for Manoa, Makiki, McCully, and Moiliilii she may share some general observations of aging in the area.

The meditation session, dharma talk, and presentation on the Blue Zones Project all point to a great meeting. Be sure to attend.

LOOKING AHEAD:

At our Saturday 27 April Community Meeting we will have two interesting presenters. ELIZABETH KASHINSKY will speak on nature therapy—focusing on mindfulness in nature and PHYLLIS LOOK will speak on Forest Bathing—a forest walking experience originating in Japan called Shinrin-Yoku. Nature therapy walks and forest bathing are not only calming and relaxing but can also be triggers to awakening experiences.

Also, there will be an opportunity to experience forest bathing on May 25th. A nature therapy walk will be scheduled at a later date, perhaps during the summer when Lizabeth’s schedule lightens up.

MORE INFORMATION ON THESE PRESENTATIONS AND NATURE WALK EXPERIENCES WILL BE IN UPCOMING ANNOUNCEMENTS.
