ALOHA ALL!!
Our next Mindful Hawaii Community meet will BE AT 1PM SATURDAY 22 JUNE 2019 AT KAITO GAKKO, 3225 PAKANU, NEXT TO THE MANOA CHINESE CEMETERY. We will have a great presentation on that day. DON’T MISS THIS PRESENTATION BY RICHARD HENNESSEY, A LONG TIME MBSR PRACTITIONER.
Richard Hennessey, LCSW, will present on what he sees as the essence of mindfulness practice, i.e., with mindfulness we practice acceptance and non-judgment, essentially love. In so doing, we come to an inner knowing of wholeness, contentment, and our connection to all life, to a sense of oneness….and this is not limited to Buddhism. The spirit of aloha comes to mind. While Richard will focus on the teachings of Buddha, especially the concepts of not-self and conventional vs absolute reality, he will also draw from those of Jesus, and other wise souls such as Anthony de Mello, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Thomas Keating, Howard Thurman, Ram Dass, Rumi, Kabir, Mits Aoki, Kauila Clark, Clayton Naluai, and Sister Joan Chatfield, as well as teachings from A Course In Miracles and near-death experiences, especially that of Anita Moorjani.
A flyer about the talk is attached below. Hope you can make it!
