Our November 9 Mindful Hawaii Community Meeting

MINDFUL HAWAII
MANY TRUTHS, MANY PATHS, ONE SOURCE

ALOHA ALL!!

OUR NEXT MINDFUL HAWAII COMMUNITY MEETING WILL BE AT 1 PM SATURDAY 9 NOVEMBER 2019 AT KAITO GAKKO, 3225 PAKANU ST, NEXT TO THE MANOA CHINESE CEMETERY.

Our presenters will be first Dr. Dean Nelson, long time meditation and dharma teacher and author of “Don’t Waste The Pain.”  Dean has studied under Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist and founder of Shambhala International and Naropa University. Dean will speak about “The Path of The Shambhala Warrior.” In today’s context, the way of the Shambhala Warrior has much to offer us in our daily living, that is to live in peace with courage. Moreover, the path of the Shambhala Warrior has valuable leadership lessons that can be universally instructive. MORE ON THE PATH OF THE SHAMBHALA WARRIOR IN OUR NEXT NOTICE TO YOU.

The Second presenter will be Dr. Marina Piscolish, Conflict Resolution Consultant and author of “Reaching For Higher Ground.” Marina and I have been having conversations about the creation of a networking and organizing program to push MINDFUL HAWAII’s aim toward further fruition. Her presentation will be preliminary and will be followed up with a detailed presentation and conversation with our community in 2020 (the year of perfect vision), likely in February.

A GREAT BIG MAHALO TO REVEREND DAVID RIVERS, CENTRAL UNION CHURCH, FOR GIVING US A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING AND INSIGHT INTO RICHARD ROHR’S LATEST BOOK, “UNIVERSAL CHRIST.” IF YOU HAVE’NT ALREADY, PICK UP ROHR’S LATEST BOOK. ITʻS AN INTERESTING READ.

Rohr is a Franciscan Monk. ordained to the priesthood in the Roman Catholic Church in 1970. Influences on Richard Rohr outside Christian sources include Buddhism, Hinduism, Ghandi, Carl Jung, Spiral Dynamics, and Integral Theory. He is a prolific writer with over 30 books published under his name. Rohr says that the “Universal Christ” will likely be his last book.

PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND PLAN TO ATTEND OUR 9 NOVEMBER 2019 MEETING. DON’T MISS IT. INVITE YOUR FRIENDS TO JOIN YOU.

FOR ADVANCE PLANNING, please note on your Calendar that December will be our traditional holiday month. NO COMMUNITY MEETING WILL BE SCHEDULED IN DECEMBER, EXCEPT FOR BOARD AND ORGANIZING MEETINGS. WE WILL RESUME OUR COMMUNITY MEETINGS IN JANUARY 2020 WITH A MEDITATION SESSION AND DHARMA TALK. WE WILL HAVE SINGING TOO. MUCH MAHALO!!!
