Our October 12 Mindful Hawaii Community Meeting

MINDFUL HAWAII

MANY TRUTHS, MANY PATHS, ONE SOURCE

ALOHA ALL!!

OUR NEXT MINDFUL HAWAII COMMUNITY MEETING WILL BE AT 1 PM SATURDAY 12 OCTOBER 2019 AT KAITO GAKKO, 3225 PAKANU ST, NEXT TO THE MANOA CHINESE CEMETERY.

Our presenter for that day will be REVEREND DAVID RIVERS, CENTRAL UNION CHURCH. Reverend Rivers will present themes and meanings from RICHARD ROHR’s latest book “UNIVERSAL CHRIST.” In his latest book, Richard Rohr speaks to the universal spirit that includes all.  He says that the Universal Christ changes everything. Rohr, a catholic, is a prolific writer with 30 plus books published under his name. He says that the “Universal Christ” will likely be his last book.

Reverend Rivers is a long time student of the works of Richard Rohr. We are fortunate to have someone like Reverend Rivers to share his insights on Richard Rohr’s works.

More on the Richard Rohr’s works and the “Universal Christ” in our next notice. IN THE MEAN TIME PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND PLAN TO ATTEND THE NEXT MINDFUL HAWAII COMMUNITY MEETING. DON’T MISS IT.

WE WANT TO THANK ANISA WISEMAN  from the NATIONAL ALLIANCE OF MENTAL ILLNESS, NAMI HAWAII for a wonderful and informative presentation. The exercises Anisa walked us through were easy to follow and helpful to everyday living. The exercises themselves demonstrate how mindful meditation is inherent in each of the exercises demonstrated.

Mahalo to Roger Epstein, Carol Alevizos, and Richard Hennessey of Mindful Hawaii’s Inter-spiritual committee for an update of the work of the committee.  Report items and a draft of the committee’s concept paper will be sent out to you very soon.

Also, for advance planning, please note on your Calendar our November Mindful Hawaii Community meeting, 1 pm Saturday 9 November 2019.  The path of the Shambhala Warrior will be presented. And additionally, a brief introductory concept of an organizing program for Mindful Hawaii will be presented.

We will have short meditation sessions interspersed between presentations, too.  Please feel free invite friends from your intimate circle to join us.

Mahalo,
Jimmy
